This cast resin sculpture is a small bird with both wings opened straight out and held level, so the whole span sits in one plane and the piece is twice as wide as it is high. The outer edge of each wing is cut as a row of shallow points, the breast is plain and full, and the tail is short. It stands on its own two feet with the toes spread and no base under it. The resin is a translucent red that goes almost orange where the wings thin out.
Holding two wings level and in one plane is harder than lifting them, because the eye measures one against the other and a difference of a degree is visible at arm's length. They are cut as a pair, checked against a straight edge laid across the span, and then thinned from underneath so the top surface stays true. The feet are the other constraint. They are the only contact the piece has and they carry a span that reaches well outside them, so each toe is set flat and the two are brought to the same height on a flat bench, which is also what stops the bird rocking when it is put down on a shelf.
At twenty-eight centimetres across this is a shelf, desk and windowsill piece, and it asks to be met head-on, which is the only angle where the span reads. Give it clear space on both sides: anything within a wing's length of it joins the outline. It is at its best with light behind it, where the thin outer wings go bright and the body stays solid, and it does least in a dim corner. On a white sill the red is at its strongest; on timber it warms and loses some of its edge.
Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. The bird comes in this red, in a green, in a blue or in an amber, or as a solid opaque bird where the colour should not pass light. The wings are made at this full spread, half open, or folded to the body, and a fixing can be added under the feet for a bird that is to be mounted. Other spans can be made to order. It arrives boxed with each wing supported along its length and nothing to assemble; lift it under the breast, never by a wing. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A bird with its span held flat in one plane belongs with our bird sculptures; feather edges cut as a serration lead to our animal sculptures, and red going orange where the wings thin joins our contemporary and modern sculptures.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
