One flat plate of deep red leaning off a colourless upright, the upright narrower than the plate it carries and cast with it as a single form. A single deep red, flat across the whole slab, with no grading anywhere in it. The clear plinth is part of the casting and no separate base is supplied.
A plane of flat colour held up by something invisible is a simple idea that only works if the support is truly colourless, which is the whole of the difficulty. The whole piece is one idea and it works or it does not: a plane of flat colour appearing to hold itself in the air. Everything that would give the support away, a tint in it, a visible join, a heavier section, has been kept out. Red at this depth in a solid casting stops light almost completely, so the slab reads as an opaque plane while the clear plinth under it disappears. Mirror polished on both faces of the slab so the red returns a clean reflection rather than a soft one.
A hall table or a narrow console where one strong plane is wanted and there is no room for width. A pale wall. The whole idea is a red plane floating, and a dark ground takes the float away. Front light keeps the red even. Light from behind finds the plinth and gives the trick away. From the doorway the red plane is all there is to see, and the plinth arrives only as you come closer.
As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The red can be graded toward the top, the angle of the lean can open, and the plinth can be tinted to make the support explicit. Add a tint to the plinth and the piece becomes two objects, because the whole argument rests on one of them being invisible. One crate. The slab is packed with its full face supported. One person. Take it by the plinth and let the slab stay where it is. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A single red plane held off a colourless upright finds its place in our indoor sculptures; the floating slab suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and the red and clear casting belongs with our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
