Red Frosted Thin-Walled Shell Cast Resin Chair - 64cm $4,05000
Description

A red chair of frosted resin, its shell and legs cast in one even wall. The back rises into a low panel, the sides curl up into short wings that stop before the front, and beneath it a pair of flat legs splays out to the floor. The red runs strongest along the cut edges and fades to a soft pink across the seat.

A Red Shell That Softens to Pink

In red, the chair's single wall shows itself plainly. Where the shell turns away from you, at its rim, over the crests of the wings and along the fronts of the legs, the red gathers into a deep line; where it faces you squarely it thins toward pink, so the chair is drawn in its own darker outline. The frost gives the surface a soft, even sheen with no hard reflections. The back panel rises out of the seat and the wings curl from its sides without a break in the line.

Red suits a room that can take a strong accent: a white kitchen, a grey study, or a dressing room where one chair is meant to be noticed. It sits low enough to pull in at a dressing table or a writing desk, and its sled keeps it steady on a rug. On a pale floor the pink of the seat shows; on a dark one it is the red outline that carries.

Red Throughout, the Wings, and a Crate of Its Own

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. The red can be deepened to a wine or lifted toward coral, and a single even tint can replace the graded one. The wings can be trimmed away entirely for a plain tub, and four slim legs can take the place of the sled. It is made as a chair of its own, and the same design is also made in blue and in green. Order several together and they are made side by side, so their colour matches. One crate per chair, lifted by two people. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Its blue and green companions and other sculptural seating are collected in our art furniture, and strong colour of the same kind carries on through our resin sculptures as well as our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
