The dove in this cast resin sculpture is caught with both wings up and swept back behind it, as though at the top of a beat. The wings are not feathered in detail: each is a broad plane divided into long ribs that run from the shoulder to the tip. The body between them is left entirely smooth, with a small head and a short beak. Everything is a deep translucent red, darkening almost to black across the shoulder and the breast. It perches on a slim black post rising from a small round foot, which comes with it.
Two different treatments on one bird means the join between them carries the piece. The ribbed wings and the smooth body have to meet at the shoulder without a step, and the last rib has to die out into the body rather than stopping on it: a rib that ends abruptly looks like a crack. So the ribs are cut from the tip inwards and faded at the root, which is the opposite of the way they would be laid out on paper. The smooth body is then the harder half, because a translucent red at a full gloss turns any flat spot into a kink in the reflection, and the breast is one long compound curve with nothing on it to distract the eye. It goes through five grades and a compound.
Raised wings read against something, so give the bird a plain wall behind it and a clear surface under it: a mantel, a console, a shelf at eye level. It is at its strongest with light coming through it from behind, where the whole bird lights up and the thin outer wing goes bright while the body stays deep. On a windowsill it is at its best. Against a red or a warm wall the colour is lost, so keep it to white, grey or timber, and leave the width of the wings clear on both sides.
The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. The red runs from this depth to a pale translucent rose, and amber, green, smoke and a clear body are all made. An opaque finish is offered where a solid colour is wanted, and a satin surface in place of the gloss. Wing set is open, from this full raise to half open or closed along the back, and a second bird in another attitude can be made so a pair flies together. Any scale is cut to order. The crate holds it with each wing cased separately and there is nothing to fit; one person can place it, holding the body and not a wing. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A dove with both wings flung up belongs with our bird sculptures; feathers cut as broad ribs lead to our animal sculptures, and red that glows from behind joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
