Red Deep Cast Resin Bowl - 42cm
Red Deep Cast Resin Bowl - 42cm $2,56600
Description

A deep bowl cast hollow in a strong translucent red. The wall runs at an even thickness from the rim to the base, the rim is cut flat rather than rolled, and the outside is polished. The inside carries the same polish as the outside. It rests on its own foot, arrives without a stand, and holds what a bowl this deep will hold.

An Even Wall Is What Keeps the Colour Even

Red is the least forgiving colour to cast in a translucent material, because the eye reads its strength as a measure of how much material the light crossed. A wall that thickens by a few millimetres toward the base comes out visibly darker there, and on a bowl that reads as a shadow inside a vessel with nothing above it to cast one. Every correction anyone reaches for makes it worse: lightening the pigment washes out the rim, deepening it turns the base to brown. The only answer is the wall, held even the whole way round and the whole way down, and that is what the hollow casting is for.

It is a bowl and it can be used as one, which makes an island, a dining table or a broad console the right places for it rather than a shelf. At 42cm it wants a table or a console to itself. A pale ground under it lets the colour throw down onto the surface, which is worth having; a dark ground stops it dead. Anything put inside it will be seen through the wall as well as over the rim, so what goes in it matters more than it would in an opaque bowl.

The Wall, the Colour, and Delivery

Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. The red is taken toward orange or deepened toward black, the wall is cast heavier for weight, and the rim is rolled instead of cut flat. A frosted exterior is offered and makes the bowl opaque, which suits a room where it will be used rather than displayed. It is also made at other diameters and in a shallower section. It is sent in one crate seated in a shaped bed with the rim ringed and protected, and two people lift it by the base rather than the rim. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A bowl deep enough to fill belongs with our art furniture; red held evenly in a hollow wall leads to our resin sculptures, and a vivid vessel for a broad island joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
