Pink Graded Frosted Block Resin Sculpture, 60cm, a rectangular resin block fading from pale white at top to saturated magenta-pink at the base, matte finish, on a plain white background.
Pink Graded Frosted Block Resin Sculpture - 60cm $3,58700
Description

A cast resin sculpture standing as a rectangular block, frosted and graded from almost white at the top down to a saturated magenta-pink at the foot. There is nothing else on it. No facet, no relief, no inclusion, no polish: the surface is matt throughout and the corners are square and unbroken, so the object is almost entirely the change of colour down its height. Through the frost a faint inner line shows just below the top edge and down each side, and the upright edges glow a deeper pink than the faces. Seen from any side the grade reads the same way, and from directly above the block is simply pale.

A Gradient and Nothing Else

A grade with nothing to distract from it has to be right over the whole height, and that is the difficulty. On a faceted or textured piece the eye is busy and a band of colour slightly out of place goes unnoticed; here there is nothing else to look at, so any step or stall in the transition is the only thing anybody sees. In this block the grade runs evenly from a soft rose at the top to magenta at the foot, with no band anywhere along the way, and the upright edges carry the same grade a shade deeper. The frost is an even matt on every face, since an uneven matt looks like a change of colour and not of surface, and that would compete with the only thing happening.

At 60cm, a block of this colour is a punctuation mark, and it works where a room needs one: beside a pale chair, at the foot of a stair, or on the floor where a wall turns. It is happiest against a plain wall and a plain floor, since the point is one uninterrupted change and anything patterned behind it interrupts. Light from above suits it, running down the grade the way the grade runs; light from one side puts a bright face and a dark face on it and halves the effect. It is an indoor piece and the grade is at its best in even daylight.

The Grade, the Scale and Carrying It

From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. The grade is the whole specification and it is drawn per piece: this white-to-magenta, a reversed run that darkens upward, a blue, an amber, a smoke, or a two-colour grade meeting in the middle. The block is made from a desk size up to seat height and beyond, and the proportion can be squared or drawn out into a column. A polished version is offered and behaves completely differently, since gloss reflects the room and the matt does not. Lift it with flat palms on two opposite faces, since a matt surface keeps the mark of a knuckle where a polished one would not. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A frosted block graded from rose to magenta, this cast piece belongs to our geometric sculptures, our resin sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
