Pale Crystal Brass Banded Oval Low Table - 100cm
Pale Crystal Brass Banded Oval Low Table - 100cm $5,93700
Description

An oval low table in clear resin and brass. The top is a thick slab filled with pale, fine angular fragments, and a narrow brass band runs round the foot of its rim, leaving the crystal edge open above it. Below, a brass drum carries the top, reeded all round in close, narrow flutes, with a few short vertical slits at mid-height.

An Open Crystal Edge Above a Reeded Brass Drum

Two things shape this table. The first is the brass band at the foot of the rim: a narrow line of metal running all the way round the oval, with the crystal left open above it, so the slab reads as a block of ice set on a thin gold rail rather than as a tray. The fragments are pale and fine and fill the whole thickness, which keeps the top bright when it is looked down into. The second is the drum, made of close brass reeds that each hold a highlight, with a scatter of short slits around its middle, so it looks like a gathered sheaf of rods rather than a solid can. Because the plan is an oval rather than a circle, the overhang is generous at the ends and slight at the sides, which gives the table a direction it would not otherwise have.

This is a coffee table for a seating group arranged along a line rather than in a ring, since the oval has ends and wants to point down the room. The crystal top is level and takes anything. It reads best where a light can sit above it, which puts the field of fragments at its brightest and throws the drum's slot pattern onto the floor. Against a dark rug the brass is the strongest thing in the room; against a pale one the crystal takes over. Indoors only.

The Rim Band, the Slots, and the Plan

Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. The rim band is the first choice, in brass as here, in a blackened steel that makes the crystal read colder, or left off altogether for a bare edge. The slots in the drum come second: at these intervals, closer for a finer rhythm, or omitted for a plain fluted drum. The third is the plan, from this oval through to a circle or a rounded rectangle, which changes how the table sits in a room more than any surface decision does. Fragment scale is set with the top. Plan size and drum height are quoted together. Slab and drum travel separately and are joined on site with the fixings supplied. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

The pale crystal slab belongs to our resin sculptures, while the reeded brass drum is closer to our metal sculptures; as an oval low table for a long seating group, it also appears in our art furniture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
