The shell of this acrylic armchair is one orange curve and does the whole work: it rises behind the sitter and comes forward on both sides to make the arms, with no join and no upright anywhere in the outline. A cream upholstered pad sits in the seat, and below it a chromed stem flares out to a broad disc on the floor.
A shell that serves as back and arms together has to be right in one operation, because there is no member to adjust afterwards. The curve is taken over a former in a single heat and held while it cools through: released early it relaxes open and the arms sit wide, held unevenly and one arm comes forward further than the other. The orange is cast in and reads deeper along the arms, where you look through the curve at an angle, than across the back where you look straight through it - the same tint throughout, presented differently by the geometry. The pad is built on a shaped base and drops into the seat, so it can come out. Where the stem meets the shell the fixing is set into a boss on the underside.
A swivel chair belongs where people turn to talk rather than sit facing one way, so it earns its keep at the end of a sofa, in a bay, or at a dressing table. At 80cm the shell reads as a proper chair from across a room, and the disc foot means it takes up less floor than four legs would. The chrome picks up the room the way any polished metal does. Over a pale carpet the orange throws warm colour down onto the pile, which is worth having in a cool room and worth avoiding in a warm one.
Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. The shell tint is specified with the order and the pad is made up in the fabric and colour you choose - it can also be left out for an unpadded shell. The stem is available brushed rather than chromed, and a fixed base can replace the swivel. The chair arrives in two parts, shell and base, and they bolt together through the boss in one operation with the fixings supplied. The disc foot is the weight in the crate and the shell the bulk, so two people make it easier through a doorway though one can manage each part. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
One orange curve over a trumpet stem belongs with our acrylic sculptures; a chromed column on a disc foot leads to our metal sculptures, and a swivel chair for a bay joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
