The Orange Rhino Head Resin Armchair is a baroque armchair frame, with cabriole legs, scrolled arms and a shaped back, in translucent amber-orange resin, and a full rhinoceros head rises out of the left arm where a scroll would ordinarily finish. Both horns, the ears and the folds of the muzzle are modelled into the frame, and because the resin is transparent the head is read through its own depth rather than off its surface. The seat and back are separately upholstered and buttoned.
The head is not an ornament fixed to a chair: it grows out of the arm, and the scroll of the arm resolves into the animal's jaw so there is no line where furniture stops and creature starts. Every fold of the muzzle is worked by hand, so no two heads carry the same expression. The amber is in the resin rather than on it, and the frame is transparent enough that the upholstery behind it tints the colour where the two overlap. The upholstery is buttoned through to a backing board and comes away as a unit, so it can be re-covered later without the frame being touched.
This is a single statement chair rather than one of a pair. It suits a hotel or club lounge, a large hallway, a dressing room, a showroom or a study, and it is best approached from the left, where the head reads. The amber resin throws warm colour onto whatever is beside it, so it sits best against plain plaster or a dark panelled wall rather than a patterned one. Indoor use only.
Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. Three things on this chair are specified rather than fixed. The upholstery is made from your own fabric or from the studio range, in the buttoned pattern or plain, and a matching footstool is made on the same detail. The resin tint is chosen from the studio range, and a colourless version is made where the frame is to read as glass and the fabric is to carry the colour. The head itself is commissioned as a different animal on the identical frame, which is the alteration customers ask for most, and it is quoted per subject because the modelling is done from scratch each time. On handling: the horns are the most exposed part of the piece and the first thing to catch a doorframe, so the chair is crated with them shielded in a moulded pocket and is carried by the seat rail, never by the head or an arm. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A rhinoceros head grown from a baroque arm makes this chair a centrepiece of our art furniture; it is a statement for a lounge among our indoor sculptures, and the amber-orange casting sits with our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
