This stool is made in two parts that could hardly be less alike. The body is a colourless cylinder whose entire outer wall is faceted and broken, closer to split ice than to anything regular, and the room shows through it from every side. Set into the top of it, sitting slightly proud, is a round cushion in a deep navy velvet, opaque and soft where the body is hard and clear.
Two materials, and neither pretends to be the other. The cylinder wall is faceted right round in irregular broken planes, and being colourless the room shows through it from every side, so from across a room the stool reads as a bright column and close to it resolves into dozens of separate facets each holding its own highlight. The navy cushion sits into the top and stands slightly proud of it, soft and completely opaque, and it stops the eye dead at the top of the piece. That contrast is the whole object: nothing about the cushion is faceted and nothing about the body is soft.
At 45cm it sits at seat height, takes a tray beside a low chair, or stands on its own as an object. The cushion makes it usable for sitting in a way a bare faceted top would not. Place it where light can come from behind or from the side, which is what lights the faceted wall. The velvet will mark and is not sealed, and it will show a wet glass. Indoors only.
Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The upholstery is the slow part. Three things can change. The cushion is the first choice: this navy velvet, a leather, or a plain woven cloth, and it can be omitted for a faceted top. The faceting is second, from these broken planes through to a smooth cylinder. And the wall, which can stay clear as here or be tinted, which changes the piece from ice to glass. Tell us the diameter and the height. Several ordered together are worked so that the navy of the cushion agrees. The packing protects the faceted wall; moving it wants one person. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Velvet over split ice makes this stool a piece for our art furniture; the faceted clear wall belongs with our resin sculptures, and its broken surface with our organic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
