An upright acrylic sculpture cut into something over twenty planes, with the widest across the front. Green runs through the upper faces and the right shoulder, violet and magenta down the middle and the left, a deep wine red along one narrow band across the left side, turquoise along the foot and a pale lavender on the right below the green. Through the clear body the faces behind return colours of their own, so the block reads in depth as well as across its surface, and no single view takes in more than part of its colour.
A block cut into twenty-odd planes is planned as a whole before the first cut, because each face changes the angle of the faces beside it, and on a dichroic body the angle is the colour. That is how one block carries green across its shoulder, violet and magenta through the middle, a wine red on one narrow band and turquoise at the foot without any change of material. The polish then has to be even across every plane, since a dull patch on a clear body shows the faces behind it as a smudge rather than as colour. The foot planes are worked flat as a set so the block stands without packing.
Eighty-eight centimetres puts this on a low plinth or the floor, and it wants to be placed where it can be reached from every side: from one fixed position you get perhaps a third of the colours, which come and go as the angle changes. A hall, a landing, the corner of a large room or the end of a glazed run all suit it. Give it daylight where you can. Light with some spread to it moves the colour across every face, where a single hard spot lights one or two and leaves the rest dark. Keep it clear of a doorway line, since the facet edges are crisp and shins find them.
Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. The coating is specified at order: this run of green, violet and magenta, a cooler blue shift, a warm gold, or nothing at all for a block that reads as clear glass. Each piece has its own cut, so its proportions can be made squatter or more slender and the broad front set square to a room or turned to face a corner. It is moved upright, taken by the shoulder and the foot rather than laid on a flank. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Upright and cut into twenty-odd planes of shifting colour, this gem stands with our geometric sculptures, our acrylic sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
