Multi-Colour Graded Wide-Racked Stag Resin Sculpture - 122cm $5,19700
Description

The stag on this resin sculpture stands with his head up and carries a rack of branching antlers wider than his own body, so the rack reaches out past the shoulder on both sides. The iridescent grade holds a warm amber right through the antlers, the head, the neck and the chest, and only cools to a clear blue behind the shoulder. At this height it is a floor piece, meant to be met from the far side of a room.

A Transition That Has to Work Across a Room

Scale changes where the grade has to be right. On a table-sized animal the transition is examined close to, so what matters is that it is smooth; on this one the piece is normally seen from across a room, so what matters is where the warm mass ends. Set too far back and the animal reads as entirely amber with cold feet; too far forward and the whole front goes muddy. The point is chosen by standing the finished stag at the far end of the workshop and looking, a different test from the one a table-sized animal needs, and it is why the amber is carried as far back as the shoulder. The rack's amber is judged against the head's, so that the two agree where they meet.

A rack this wide sets the position before anything else does: it needs clear space to both sides and above, so an open floor, a stair hall or the middle of a large room, never an alcove. Check the doorways on the way in as well as the space it is going to. Cool daylight keeps both ends of the grade visible; a warm lamp collapses it into amber. Against a pale wall the animal reads whole from across the room, which is how it is meant to be met, and a dark wall loses the blue hindquarters entirely.

Rack Width, Grade and Getting It Through a Door

It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. The spread of the rack and the count of its tines are both named with the order, and a hind without antlers can be cast off the same form. The grade can be reversed, held to one colour, or run from a rose into gold, from a green into blue, or in greys throughout, and a plain clear stag is offered. Standing, grazing and lying animals can be made to match at this height and below it. Any size is cut to order, and anything bought alongside it is finished at the same time. Body and rack are crated apart and seat together by hand on site; two people are wanted for the body and the rack is carried by one along its length. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A stag carrying a rack wider than its frame belongs with our deer statues; antlers spread past both shoulders lead to our animal sculptures, and a warm grade cooling to blue joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
