Multi-Colour Faceted Gem Block Resin Sculpture, 22cm, with sharp angular planes graded blue, green and magenta, on a black wood base against a plain white background.
Multi-Colour Faceted Gem Block Resin Sculpture - 22cm $2,56500
Description

A faceted block cut into large flat planes that meet at sharp arrises, and graded through blue at the base, green across the middle and magenta at the upper corner. The planes are polished and no two are the same size. It stands on a small black base of wood, included with the piece.

A Facet Cuts the Gradient

A gradient inside a transparent block and a set of flat faces on the outside of it are two systems that have to be resolved against each other, and where the facets fall decides where the colours appear to meet. Each plane takes a slice through the grade at its own depth and returns it at its own angle, so a boundary that runs smoothly through the material arrives at the surface broken into steps. Cut the facets small and the grade is chopped into confetti; cut them too large and the block reads as three coloured slabs stuck together. The sizes used here are set by that argument alone, which is why no two faces match.

At 22cm it is a close-up object for a desk or a bedside table, read best within arm's reach. It needs a strong single light more than a bright room: the facets work by returning light in specific directions, and diffuse light from everywhere returns nothing in particular and leaves a dull block. A position where daylight reaches it from one window is the simplest answer. The wood base keeps it from sliding on a polished surface.

The Facets, the Grade, and Delivery

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The facet count is raised or dropped, the grade is set to run through other colours, and the block is cast at other sizes. A single-colour body is offered and turns the piece into a study of the cutting alone, which is a cleaner object and a quieter one. The base is also made in stone or in steel. One box takes it, cut so that only the base and the broad faces are touched, and it lifts in one hand. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A block cut to facets is indoor sculpture; the graded body is contemporary sculpture; and the colour is held in resin sculpture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
