The Monumental Traditional Standing and Seated Samurai Bronze Sculpture stands at an imposing 350cm, presenting two figures in full traditional Japanese robes rendered with exacting sculptural care. The standing warrior holds his sword firm at his side, both hands gripping the hilt; his seated companion rests with katana laid horizontally across his lap. Both face forward with composed, solemn expressions, conveying the disciplined stillness that defines samurai culture.
This sculpture is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting process, which allows every fold of kimono fabric, every detail of the hakama, and the precise topknot of each figure to be preserved in the metal with fidelity. The surface carries a matte bronze finish with a blue-grey verdigris patina, consistent with long-term outdoor weathering and lending the piece an earned, ceremonial weight. As a large cast bronze sculpture of this scale, the finish reads beautifully across distance while rewarding close inspection.
At 350cm tall and weighing 2,200kg, this is a piece conceived for significant architectural or landscape settings. It suits formal garden axes, entrance courtyards, institutional forecourts, and the grand interiors of commercial or civic buildings. The cooler bronze-green tones complement stone paving, dark timber, mature planting, and neutral masonry equally. Sited outdoors, it will continue to develop a natural patina over time; installed indoors, it retains its current character. This sculpture is fully suitable for both indoor and outdoor placement.
We can adjust the patina to a warmer natural bronze, a deep aged brown, or a contemporary dark black finish. Scaling the composition to suit a specific site, or developing a single-figure version of either warrior, is possible through our bespoke commission process. If you are working with a specific site or brief, contact us before ordering so we can advise on foundation requirements, installation logistics, and finish options suited to your setting.
