The Monumental Traditional Racehorse and Jockey Bronze Sculpture stands 320cm tall and captures a thoroughbred at the peak of its gallop, every tendon and muscle locked into a single explosive stride. The jockey rides low over the horse's neck, reins gathered and whip raised, the entire composition frozen at the precise moment of maximum velocity.
This sculpture is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, a process that preserves the finest surface detail from the original model through to the finished bronze. Every element of the horse's tack, including bridle, reins, saddle and stirrups, is rendered with precision across the full monumental scale. The dark brown bronze patina deepens on the recessed planes and brightens to a warm reflective sheen on the raised musculature, giving the piece the tonal complexity expected of a serious large-scale bronze racing sculpture. Hand-finishing after casting refines the surface across the horse's body and the jockey's silks and helmet, producing a result that reads with equal clarity at distance and close inspection.
At 320cm and 1,250kg, this piece commands significant civic or estate-scale spaces. It suits formal entrance drives, racing establishments, private parkland, sports venues and large architectural forecourts. The traditional figurative style pairs well with classical stone architecture, manicured landscaping and pale concrete or granite paving. Equally, it reads powerfully against contemporary minimalist backdrops where the warm bronze tones provide a strong material contrast. Fully suited to both covered interior atria and permanent outdoor installation, the alloy weathers to a stable natural patina over time with minimal maintenance.
Patina options include classic dark brown, verdigris green, natural mid-tone and black. The sculpture can also be produced at a modified scale to suit specific site requirements. For clients interested in a commission inspired by the work of a particular equestrian sculptor, or requiring a jockey in specific racing silks or colours, our studio team can accommodate full bespoke briefs. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements and receive a tailored quote.
