The Monumental Rearing Horse Bronze Sculpture stands at an imposing 260cm, capturing a stallion at full rear, forelegs lifted and bent, mane and tail caught in arrested motion. The composition commands space with the authority of a piece conceived for grand estate courtyards, plazas, and formal grounds.
This sculpture is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, in which a hand-modelled original is encased in ceramic shell, the wax burned away, and molten bronze poured into the resulting void. The result is a solid cast bronze horse statue of exceptional structural integrity, capable of enduring decades of outdoor exposure without compromise. The surface carries a deep greenish-black patina applied and sealed by hand; the variation across the coat, musculature, and flowing mane reflects the natural oxidation character of the finish rather than a uniform spray tone. Fine detail is preserved throughout, from the articulation of individual muscle groups to the strand-level texture of the tail.
At 260cm tall and weighing approximately 1,000kg, this is a statement piece suited to sweeping driveways, estate entrances, open lawns, and large-format indoor atria. The low stone slab base integrates well against natural stone paving, gravel, or raked ground. The dark bronze palette reads strongly against pale stone, brick, clipped hedging, and open sky alike.
The patina shown is a classic dark greenish-black; we also offer warm brown, mid-tone natural, and full verde treatments. Scale variants are available for courtyards or interior spaces where the full 260cm presents logistical constraints. Custom commissions, including alternative poses, personalised plinth design, or breed-specific interpretation inspired by the work of established equestrian sculptors, are welcomed. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements.
