Monumental Mermaid and Leaping Dolphins Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, with a central mermaid encircled by six blue-green dolphins spiralling upward.
Monumental Mermaid and Leaping Dolphins Bronze Sculpture - 350cm $50,12200
Description

The Monumental Mermaid and Leaping Dolphins Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 350cm, presenting a central mermaid figure encircled by six arcing dolphins in a sweeping spiral composition that commands attention at any scale. The piece carries genuine drama: the mermaid rises upright with arms gently extended, her scaled tail curving forward, while the dolphins range from a horizontal figure at the base to one leaping at full height above her, generating a sense of continuous upward motion frozen in bronze.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished with Dual-Tone Patina

Every element of this sculpture is produced through the traditional lost-wax casting process, a method that preserves the finest surface detail across complex, multi-figure compositions. The hand-applied dual-tone patina is one of the defining qualities of this piece: the mermaid's figure carries warm brown-bronze skin tones, while the dolphins and her scaled tail display a vivid blue-green verdigris finish that reads as genuinely aquatic in natural light. The rocky outcrop base retains a darker brown bronze, suggesting an underwater reef with coral-like forms at the shoreline. Fish-scale texture on the tail and the mermaid's long flowing hair are rendered with precision that rewards close inspection. This is a large-scale bronze sculpture built to last generations outdoors without structural compromise.

At 350cm and 800kg, this sculpture is purpose-built for open-air settings: coastal gardens, waterfront terraces, hotel courtyards, resort pools, civic plazas, and large estate grounds. The verdigris palette integrates naturally with water features, pale stone paving, and mature planting. The monumental scale means sightlines can be established from a considerable distance, making it as effective as a focal terminus to a long garden axis as it is positioned beside a body of water.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

Patina options extend beyond the dual-tone verdigris shown: solid dark brown, warm natural bronze, or fully custom aged finishes are all available. The sculpture can also be commissioned at an alternative height, or adapted as a water-feature centrepiece with integrated plumbing. If you are considering a commission inspired by the work of a specific figurative sculptor, contact us before ordering so we can discuss scope and feasibility.
