The Monumental Contemporary Running Horses Bronze Sculpture stands 280cm tall and presents four horses in full, simultaneous gallop, surging forward from a sculpted base that depicts a stylised section of the Berlin Wall, complete with layered graffiti text including the words 'FREE' and 'DIESE ERDE LEBT'. The composition is charged with momentum: two central horses rear and leap, flanked by two outriders, the entire group fixed at the precise moment of breakout.
Each piece is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, which allows the fine surface modelling of the horses' musculature, the cracked render of the wall, and the individual letterforms of the graffiti to translate faithfully into metal. The deep brown bronze patina across the horses' bodies gives way to green verdigris oxidation concentrated on the base and wall elements, mirroring the natural weathering of large-scale public monuments. A flat dark stone inscription plaque is set into the front face of the base, completing the commemorative bronze sculpture effect. The overall weight of 550kg speaks to the density and permanence of the casting.
At 280cm, this is a piece scaled for grand exterior environments: a formal garden, a corporate plaza, an estate approach, or an institutional courtyard. The neutral bronze and stone tones integrate naturally with pale stone paving, mature planting, and clipped formal hedging. The architectural quality of the wall base means the sculpture reads as strongly from a distance as it does up close.
Patina options include warm golden brown, classic dark brown, full verdigris green, or a mixed natural oxidation finish. The base inscription plaque can be personalised with a name, date, or dedicatory text. For those drawn to the visual language of this composition but seeking a different scale, we are happy to discuss a fully bespoke commission inspired by the work of Nandor Wagner.
