The Monumental Classical Rearing Pegasus Bronze Sculpture stands 280cm tall, a commanding winged horse caught at full rear, both front hooves lifted clear of a rough-hewn rocky mound as vast feathered wings sweep wide on either side. At 900kg, this is a piece that defines the space around it.
Cast using the lost-wax method, every surface carries the precision of the original sculpted model: the overlapping feather layers of the wings, the fine ripple of the mane and tail, the feathered fetlocks at each hoof. The finish is a heavy aged verdigris patina, built up across the full form with darker oxidation pooling in recessed areas to reveal relief and shadow. The result reads as a genuinely weathered antiquity rather than a decorative reproduction. This is monumental bronze sculpture at the scale where material weight and surface character do the work.
At 280cm, Pegasus commands formal exterior settings: stone-paved courtyards, estate lawns, neoclassical building approaches, and large civic or commercial forecourts. The verdigris palette holds equally well against pale limestone, dark hedging, and rendered masonry. The irregular boulder base integrates naturally into landscaped ground-level settings without requiring a formal plinth. For interior placements, a double-height atrium, grand hall, or gallery-scale reception space provides the volume this sculpture needs to breathe.
The verdigris patina shown is our classical aged finish, but we produce this sculpture in a range of alternatives: natural mid-tone brown bronze, dark espresso, and polished highlight finishes. Scale adjustments are available for site-specific requirements, as are fully bespoke commissions inspired by the work of classical equestrian sculptors. Contact us before ordering to discuss patina, scale, or installation requirements for your site.
