Monumental Classical Armoured Rider and Rearing Horse Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, 360cm, dark patina, horse in pesade, rider holding baton.
Monumental Classical Armoured Rider and Rearing Horse Bronze Sculpture - 360cm $158,16400
Description

The Monumental Classical Armoured Rider and Rearing Horse Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 360 centimetres, presenting an equestrian composition of true commemorative scale. The horse rises in a dramatic pesade, both front hooves lifted clear of the ground, while the armoured rider sits composed in the saddle, one arm extended forward bearing a commander's baton, the reins gathered in the other hand.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

Every surface of this piece rewards close inspection. The rider wears a fully articulated breastplate with an ornate ruff collar; spurs project from his boots; the bridle carries a chain bit rendered with precision across the muzzle. The horse's mane is braided, the tail dressed, and the musculature of the hindquarters captures the tension of the raised stance with anatomical conviction. Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, the dark antique bronze patina moves from deep black-brown on the high planes to subtle green oxidation settled in the recessed areas, a finish that reads as aged monument bronze under any light. This handcrafted equestrian bronze statue carries the weight and authority of a public commission while remaining fully suited to private installation.

At 360 centimetres, this sculpture is designed for grand exterior settings: forecourts, estate entrances, institutional grounds, or the central axis of a formal garden. Indoors, it commands cathedral-height reception halls, private atria, and large-scale architectural interiors. The dark patina reads well against pale stone, rendered walls, and mature planting alike.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

We offer a range of patina finishes including warm antique brown, verdigris, and polished natural bronze. The scale can be adjusted for your specific site, and the plinth design is fully open to commission. For a piece of this significance, we recommend contacting us before ordering so we can discuss installation requirements, access logistics, and any bespoke detailing you wish to introduce. The rider's armour, regalia, or portrait likeness can be adapted for commemorative or institutional commissions.
