Magenta Block Column on Clear Foot Resin Sculpture - 57cm, a tall magenta geometric block with sideways extension atop a clear resin foot, on a plain white background.
Magenta Block Column on Clear Foot Resin Sculpture - 57cm $2,70000
Description

A magenta column thrown off a clear foot. A standing magenta mass with a second block thrown out sideways at the waist, the whole of it rising from a colourless foot cast as part of the piece. Magenta runs the full height of the standing block and stops dead where the clear foot begins, so the join is a colour change and not a line. The clear foot is cast with the piece and nothing further is supplied under it.

The Line the Magenta Stops At

One saturated colour standing on a colourless foot makes the support vanish, and the piece is then a column of magenta with nothing visible holding it up. The change from magenta to colourless happens at a plane rather than over a distance, so it reads as an edge and not as a fade. That is the entire difference between this piece and the graduated versions of the same idea. Magenta is the one pigment in this group that goes almost opaque at depth, so the standing body reads as a solid slab while the thrown arm stays clear enough to see through. Polished throughout, and the clear foot is taken to the same grade as the coloured body above it.

A hall table, a reception counter or anywhere a single strong colour is wanted at eye level. A white or stone-coloured wall. Magenta against a warm ground turns muddy. Straight light makes it glow; raking light finds the arm thrown out at the waist and throws its shadow across the column. The colour carries across a room, and the change from magenta to clear is what rewards coming closer.

Grading the Magenta, and Getting It There

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The magenta can be graded rather than flat, the arm can be thrown the other way, and the foot can be tinted to match. Grade the magenta and the piece loses the join with the clear foot, because a gradient has nowhere to stop. One crate, standing on its own foot, with the thrown arm packed clear of the wall of the case. One person. Carry it by the standing column, never by the arm. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A magenta column with a block thrown out at the waist stands in our indoor sculptures; its sideways throw suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and the saturated casting belongs among our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
