The Life-Size Rearing Bear and Girl Bronze Sculpture stands 220cm tall and captures a charged, face-to-face encounter between a massive bear rising on its hind legs and a small hooded girl who holds her ground. The composition is still and electric at once, two presences locked in a moment that reads as confrontation, recognition, or something between the two.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this life-size bronze sculpture carries the full weight and permanence the subject demands. The bear's fur is rendered in deep, layered surface texture; the girl's clothing and bare skin are finished with the same fidelity. A warm brown patina with reddish-copper undertones brings warmth to both figures, while darker tonal variation settles into the recessed areas to define form and shadow. The integrated rocky ground base is cast as one with the composition, giving the piece a natural, site-ready profile. As a handcrafted bronze statement piece, no two castings are identical.
At 220cm and 450kg, this sculpture commands any space it occupies. It reads powerfully in large entrance halls, atrium lobbies, and private estates, and is equally suited to a sheltered outdoor terrace, a walled garden, or a landscaped courtyard. The warm bronze palette pairs naturally with stone, timber, dark steel, and mature planting. Its scale and narrative presence make it a centrepiece rather than an accent.
Patina options include dark espresso, verdigris, natural green oxidation, and polished raw bronze. The composition can be scaled up or down to suit a specific site, or adapted as a bespoke commission inspired by the work of Kent Ullberg or similar wildlife sculptors working in this tradition. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements, delivery logistics for a piece at this weight, and any site preparation considerations.
