The Large Traditional Racing Horses and Jockeys Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 250cm, presenting two life-size thoroughbreds in full gallop, each ridden by a crouched jockey in the heat of a race finish. A third horse and rider emerge at the far right, deepening the sense of a charging field and lending the composition extraordinary depth and momentum.
Every element of this sculpture is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, a process that preserves the finest incised detail across the bridles, saddles, riding crops, and articulated leg positions that define this work. The result is a life-size bronze horse sculpture of genuine sculptural weight: 550kg of solid cast bronze, finished by hand across each figure. The warm brown patina is consistent across all horses and jockeys, with subtle tonal deepening in recessed areas that emphasises musculature, tack, and the forward lean of riders pressing into the gallop.
At 250cm in height, this group commands space proportional to its subject. It suits grand civic settings, racecourse concourses, hotel lobbies, and estate entrances with equal authority. The warm bronze tone works against natural stone, pale render, dark timber, and landscaped gravel; indoors or outdoors, the patina weathers gracefully and requires only periodic wax maintenance to retain its character.
We offer a range of patina finishes including classic warm brown, aged verdigris, dark antique, and polished highlight combinations. Scale can be adjusted for specific installation contexts, and the composition can be reworked as a bespoke commission of three or more horses in a custom racing arrangement. If you have a particular patina, scale, or site requirement in mind, contact us before ordering so we can advise on the right specification.
