The Large Contemporary Bear with Fish Bronze Sculpture stands 130cm tall, depicting a bear in a low, predatory crouch, both front paws pinning a fish to a naturalistic rocky base, head lowered, mouth open, every muscle engaged in the moment of the catch.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this large bronze bear sculpture is finished entirely by hand, with dense fur texture worked across the full body surface. Darker oxidation gathers in the recessed detail of each fur line, while raised areas carry a warm brown patina that shifts across the form as light moves over it. The result is a surface alive with depth and sculptural credibility. The integral rocky outcrop base is cast as a single unified composition, its irregular stone-like texture anchoring the piece without requiring a separate plinth.
At 130cm tall and 280kg, this is a life-size wildlife bronze statue with serious presence. It suits a wide range of settings: a formal entrance hall, a panelled library, a reception atrium, a landscaped garden, a courtyard, or a public park. The warm brown patina holds well outdoors and develops character over time in natural light. Against stone, slate, dark timber, or poured concrete, the composition reads powerfully from every angle.
We offer a full range of patina options, from the classic warm brown shown here to verdigris, black, or natural aged green. The piece can be scaled up or down for specific installation requirements. If you are interested in a commission inspired by the work of wildlife sculptors working in the contemporary realist tradition, our studio team is ready to discuss your brief. Contact us before ordering if you have specific requirements regarding size, finish, or installation.
