The Large Classical Kneeling Angel Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 200cm, presenting a figure of profound solemnity: a robed angel kneeling low, head bowed in grief or deep reverence, with wings spread wide and upward in a dramatic arc that dominates the full width of the composition.
This piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, a process that preserves every detail of the original model from the fall of draped robes to the feathered texture of the outstretched wings. The dark bronze sculpture carries a near-black patina applied and worked by hand, giving the surface a uniform depth that reads as both ancient and deliberate. The result is a hand-finished bronze angel statue with the tonal gravity the subject demands.
Weighing 600kg, this is a piece designed for permanence. The integrated low oval base keeps the silhouette clean at ground level, making it equally suited to a formal garden, a memorial courtyard, a cathedral-adjacent setting, or a large interior such as a double-height entrance hall, a private chapel, or a grand staircase landing. The near-black finish works with dark stone, pale marble, aged brick, and contemporary concrete alike.
Alternative patina finishes are available, including warm brown, verdigris, and natural weathered bronze. The sculpture can be commissioned at a different scale to suit a specific architectural brief. For those drawn to the mourning angel tradition, a fully bespoke commission inspired by the work of classical funerary sculptors can be discussed with our studio team. Contact us before ordering to confirm site dimensions, patina preference, and any bespoke requirements.
