Ice Textured Slab & Twin Rock Plinth Resin Bench, 200cm, frosted clear slab with cracked ice texture on two black rock-form plinths, small black rock accent on top, plain white background.
Ice Textured Slab & Twin Rock Plinth Resin Bench - 200cm $12,82600
Description

This bench sets a frosted slab, its surface broken all over like struck ice and its edges torn, on two rock plinths. Two plinths carry it, each cast as an upright black mass with the flat faces and sharp arrises of split stone, set well in from the ends. A small rock of the same black form stands on the surface near one plinth, breaking the frosted plane from above.

A Textured Slab Across Two Rocks

Two plinths rather than one changes what the piece is. With supports set well in from each end, both extremities of the slab reach out unsupported and the bench reads as a plank set down on found ground rather than as a table with legs. The plinths are cast as upright black masses with the flat faces and sharp arrises of split stone, opaque against a slab that is frosted and translucent. The slab itself is worked to a heavy broken texture across its whole face, and its edge is torn along both long sides. A small rock of the same black form stands on the surface near one plinth, which puts the stone above the frosted plane as well as under it.

It is a serving or hall piece rather than a dining table, and it wants a generous stretch of wall. Both plinths must land on level floor. The torn edge and the rock on the surface read from the side and from above respectively, so a position people pass rather than sit at suits it. Very heavy, arrives in parts, four people. Indoor use only.

The Plinths, the Slab, and Getting It In

Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. Most of it is the two plinths. Three choices are open. The length is open, the slab is offered tinted, and the plinths can be given a different profile or finished in a paler tone. The rock is fitted only if you want it. Neither the overall length nor the top thickness is fixed. Ask for several together if the shape the plinths are given needs to agree between them. It travels with the torn slab edge and the rock on its surface packed clear, and four people can place it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A slab of broken ice across two black rocks connects this bench with our fibreglass sculptures; as a hall piece it serves among our art furniture, and the found-ground composition suits our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
