Green Textured Column Cast Resin Side Table (45cm) with a glossy bulbous disc top and lobed, vertically grained column base, shown on a plain light background.
Green Textured Column Cast Resin Side Table - 45cm $2,96800
Description

This cast resin side table stands on a textured column. The disc on top is thick, with a heavy bulbous rim rolling right round it, and its upper face is dished very slightly and left smooth. Below it the column is not round: it is a lobed section, like cylinders pressed together, and its entire outer surface is finely textured with a close irregular grain that runs vertically. The resin is a dark green that reads almost black through the rim, where the section is greatest, and a clear bottle green through the thinner walls of the column.

A Textured Column Under a Heavy Rim

This piece is built on one contrast, carried through the whole of it. The rim of the top is heavy and bulbous and completely smooth, and it is the thickest part of the object, so it holds the deepest green and returns a single clean highlight all the way round. The column beneath is the reverse: its section is lobed rather than round, and its entire outer surface carries a close irregular vertical grain, so it scatters light and reads as matt from a distance. The green sits in the material, which means the smooth rim looks almost black and the textured walls look like bottle glass, and the two are the same colour. The lobed plan also means the column presents a different profile from every angle.

At 45cm this is a low table to sit beside a seat, and its small footprint means it fits where most tables would not. The green is deep enough to hold its own against a coloured wall. The textured column wants light across it rather than down onto it, so a lamp beside it does more than a ceiling fitting. The lobed plan means it has no bad side. One person can move it. Indoors only.

The Column, the Top, and the Options

Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. The textured column is the slow part. There are three decisions. The green is offered in other tints, the texture on the column can be run finer or coarser, and the rim can be made slimmer if a lighter top is wanted. The lobed plan is fixed. You name the top diameter and the overall height. Where two or more are wanted, the grain of the texture on the column is held the same across the group. The crate holds the overhanging rim of the top away from every face, and one person can bring it in. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A heavy green rim over a lobed, textured column serves as a small table among our art furniture; the play of smooth and grained surfaces suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and a reading corner our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
