Green Ringed Leg Cast Resin Dining Chair - 80cm
Green Ringed Leg Cast Resin Dining Chair - 80cm $3,17000
Description

This dining chair is a single pale green casting from the top of its back to its feet. Back and seat are a single rounded shell with no join in it, the back a plain squared oval and the seat dished just enough to be felt. Two small finger holes are cut at the seat line where the shell turns. Four round legs taper to the floor, and the bottom half of each is turned in fine close rings while the top half stays smooth.

Turned Rings on an Otherwise Plain Leg

The rings are the whole detail and they are placed where a chair gets looked at least. Each leg is smooth from the seat down to about halfway, then turns into fine close rings for the rest of its length, so from standing the chair reads as plain and from a seat the legs read as turned. It is a quiet joke and it works because everything else is unornamented. Back and seat above run together with no join line showing, and the two finger holes at the seat line are the only openings in it. The green is deepest along the seat edge and palest across the back panel.

At 80cm this dining chair stacks visually rather than physically: it is light on the eye and can be used four or six round a table without the room filling up. It reads best on a pale floor, which the green relates to, and it takes side light well because that is what shows the turned rings on the legs. The shell is translucent, so anything behind it shows through the back. Indoor use only.

The Ring Detail, the Shell, and Sets Made Together

Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The ring detail, from this half-length run up the leg to rings over the full length, or a plain leg with none. The shell, which can carry these two finger holes or be left unpierced. And the tint, this green or an amber, a smoke grey, or clear with no colour at all. The seat height and the width across follow your figures, and a set is poured together so the tint holds, which matters more on a clear chair than an opaque one. Two chairs go in a crate and one person can lift one. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Turned rings on a plain shell chair suit our art furniture; the pale green casting is shown with our resin sculptures, and the chair among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
