Description

This lounge chair is a single band of translucent green resin, polished to a gloss and curled until it closes: the back rolls over at the top, the seat runs forward, and the front turns under and back on itself to leave a large circular void at the side. There are no legs and no joint anywhere in the outline, so the whole chair reads as one gesture held in a green that goes almost black where the material is deepest.

One Band Curled Until It Closes on Itself

The band is drawn round in one continuous curve and there is no joint anywhere on it, which is the difficulty of the piece: the section has to stay even where the material turns through the tightest part of the roll, and any thin place there shows as a change in the colour. The green sits in the material rather than on it, so it deepens with the thickness and cannot wear off an edge. Every surface is then brought to a gloss, inside the loop as well as outside, because the void is looked through as much as looked at.

Low and deep, it is made for long sitting rather than for meals, and it needs open floor around it, since the side void is half the design and vanishes when pushed to a wall. Put it at an angle in a living room, a hotel lounge or a showroom where it can be walked round, and leave the open side facing into the room.

The Loop, the Tint, and Where It Can Be Carried

Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. The closed loop is the slow part. There are three decisions. The green can be taken deeper or lightened, replaced with another tint or dropped for a colourless version, and the void can be opened out or closed down. Overall length and back height are quoted to your own figures. Where two or more are wanted, the sweep of the loop is held the same across the group. Allow four people to move it. The ribbon runs unbroken from end to end with no joint anywhere along it, so it travels assembled and there is nothing to fit on arrival. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A single green ribbon looped into a seat is filed with our contemporary and modern sculptures, offered for lounging in our art furniture, and kept out of the weather with our indoor sculptures.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
