Green Layered Mountain Range Acrylic Sculpture - 120cm
Green Layered Mountain Range Acrylic Sculpture - 120cm $6,56500
Description

This acrylic sculpture is a stack of horizontal layers cut into one tall summit and two that stop well short of it, with the first two summits repeated inverted beneath as two points, so the whole form closes into a lens shape. The green is graded rather than flat: the upper layers are pale and frosted, almost white at the summits, and the colour thickens steadily downward until the two points meeting the base are a deep bottle green. Every layer edge is left visible, so the silhouette is stepped and the surface carries fine horizontal lines all the way round. It stands on a base of white marble with grey veining through it.

Green That Deepens Towards the Waterline

Nearly all of the work goes into the grading, and it is not a coat of colour. Each layer carries its own tint and the sequence is built so the change from one to the next is small enough to read as a gradient and not as a stripe, which means the layers are ordered before anything is cut and cannot be swapped afterwards. Because the form is a lens, the two halves are cut from the same drawing and then checked against each other: the eye finds a summit that does not agree with its own reflection faster than almost any other error. The frosted look at the summits is the cut edge left as it comes from the tool rather than polished, which is a decision and not an omission, since a polished summit would go transparent and the peak would disappear against the wall behind it.

This wants length rather than height: a sideboard, a low bookcase top or a hall console, with clear surface either side so the form is not crowded. Seen from the front it reads as landscape and from the end as a stack of layers, so it should not be placed where people mostly pass it sideways. Green is the tint most affected by what is behind it. Against a white wall it stays crisp and cool; against warm wood it turns olive. Daylight from the side is ideal and a single warm downlight is the one thing to avoid, since it kills the graded green and lights only the stepped edges.

Tint, Proportion and What Comes in the Crate

Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. Tint, grading and profile are all specified at order: this green reading dark at the base, a blue or an amber in its place, a reversed grading that goes pale downward, or an untinted stack. The count and spacing of the summits is drawn for each piece, and the mirrored underside is optional. The base is offered in white marble, black marble or a dark timber, and its footprint is sized to the range rather than being a standard block. Lift it with a hand under each end of the body and never by a summit, which is a single layer thick at the tip. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Bands of colour standing in for distance is what makes this abstract sculpture, the stack behind it is what acrylic sculpture is for, and the tint stays true where indoor sculpture lives.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
