This reception desk has its front and returns cut into a dense field of sharp facets in green resin, with lighting built into the body and a low steel plinth beneath. Lit, the front reads as a single green mass with every facet edge picked out bright; unlit, the same faces read as cut stone and the piece loses its glow entirely without losing its shape.
The facets are deep rather than shallow, so each one presents a distinct plane and the field never flattens into a texture at a distance. No fitting, lens or bright line is visible from the front or from either return, and there is no seam where the illuminated area stops. The steel plinth is set back from the face so the green mass stands clear of the floor, and it takes the cable run out of sight. Every facet is finished by hand, so the pattern of edges differs from one desk to the next and the same drawing never produces the same front twice. The green is in the resin, so a chipped arris shows green rather than white.
This is a counter-height piece for a receptionist on their feet: a gallery front desk, a spa or salon welcome point, or the check-in of a small hotel. It needs a dark or mid-toned wall behind it for the lit facets to register, and it is most effective where the lighting in the room can be brought down. Indoor use only.
Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The built-in lighting needs an electrician, so the electrical work is settled before anything is made. A mains connection is required at the plinth, and we supply dimensioned drawings showing where the cable enters, how much slack to leave and what the fixing centres are, in time for first fix rather than on the day of delivery. The circuit is specified as fixed warm, fixed cool, or a controllable circuit run to a dimmer or a building management system, and that choice is made at order because it is not a swap that can be made afterwards. Alternative widths and returns are made to order, the facet scale is set coarser or finer to suit the viewing distance, and tints are offered from the studio range. The desk travels in a purpose-built crate with its steel base packed apart; the facet arrises are fine, so it is unpacked face up, handled by the base rather than the body, and lowered into place before the cable is drawn through. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A lit reception counter belongs to our art furniture; the faceted green casting counts among our resin sculptures, and the steel plinth ties it to our stainless steel sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
