Frosted White Concentric Dome Acrylic Sculpture - 30cm, stacked satin-finish rings forming a stepped dome shape on a plain white background.
Frosted White Concentric Dome Acrylic Sculpture - 30cm $2,22700
Description

Frosted white acrylic is stacked here into a rounded dome, disc on disc, with the widest ring on the floor and a short cylinder crowning the top. The sides climb steeply at first and then curve over into broad shallow ledges, so the outline is a dome's and never a cone's. Each ring is frosted to a soft satin and lit at its edge by whatever light falls on it. At 30cm the dome sits at an easy reach on a sideboard, where its crown is plainly seen.

A Rounded Dome of Frosted Rings

Making a dome out of flat discs is a question of how far each one steps in from the last: an even step gives a cone, so here the steps start small at the foot and grow toward the top, and that is what curves the outline over. The diameters are worked out as a set before any disc is cut, and the discs are checked against their neighbours dry before they are bonded, since a single ring out of sequence shows as a flat or a bulge in the curve. The frost is laid evenly over faces and edges, so no ring catches more light than the others.

On a sideboard or a broad hall shelf the dome looks its best seen a little from above, where the rings close up into one curve. Its frosting suits a room with daylight, which it softens and holds; under a single lamp the ledges read as a run of faint bright lines. A dark surface sharpens the white rings, and pale oak softens them.

White or Tinted, Deeper Steps, and Crating

As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The white frost is one option of several: the dome can be tinted to order, left clear and unfrosted, or frosted in two tones divided between the foot and the crown. The ledges can be made fewer and deeper for a bolder step, and the crowning cylinder widened or omitted. Packing is a fitted crate with each ledge padded, and unpacking is two hands under the foot, lifting it clear in one movement. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A dome of frosted rings curving over to a small crown belongs with our acrylic sculptures; concentric discs set in a measured sequence lead to our geometric sculptures, and a softly glowing piece for a daylit hall joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
