Description

This acrylic stool is a cube, frosted on every outer face, and the colour is inside rather than on it: looking into the cube the pink is faint near the top and gathers toward the floor, so the object reads as a box holding colour rather than a box painted with it. A pale pink upholstered pad sits on the top, set in from the edges and standing just proud of the cube.

Pink Gathering at the Bottom of a Frosted Cube

Frosting the outside and grading the inside are two operations that fight each other. A frosted face scatters light, which is what makes the cube read as a soft solid, but scattering also flattens the gradient behind it - taken too far the pink becomes an even wash and the whole point is lost. So the frost is held to a depth that still lets the grade read through it, and that depth is judged against the strength of the pink rather than set to a figure. The pad is made to sit squarely on the top face, inset from its edges by an even margin all round, so the frosted rim frames it like a mount round a picture.

A padded cube works as a seat and as a surface when nobody is on it, which is why it pays its way at a bed end, in a dressing room or beside a bath. At 45cm it is seat height. A frosted pink carries its own colour whatever the light does, which makes it far simpler to place than a colourless piece. It reads best against a plain pale wall, where the gathered colour at the floor shows as a soft shadow.

Pad Fabric, Colour Depth and a One-Piece Delivery

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. Pad fabric is chosen from a range and can be supplied in a plain weave, a velvet or a leather. The grade can be reversed to put the colour at the top, run corner to corner, or replaced by an even tint. Other colours come from the same stock. The cube is cut to order in other sizes and the pad follows. It arrives with the pad already in place, and one person can lift it. It travels boxed on all six faces, a frosted arris being the part that shows a knock. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Pink gathered low inside a frosted cube belongs with our acrylic sculptures; a padded top for sitting or for a tray leads to our art furniture, and a cube seat beside a bath joins our indoor sculptures.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
