This acrylic stool is three elements, one on another. At the floor a clear cone widens out to give the stool its footing. Above it sits a clear dome, read as a half-sphere squeezed between the cone below and the pad above. On top of that a round upholstered pad in a pale cream, deep enough to sit on and wide enough to overhang the dome all round.
A dome between a cone and a pad has two curved joints and no flat anywhere, which is why this is a harder object than it looks. The cone's top has to be turned to the dome's radius so the two meet over a band rather than at a line, and the dome's top is flattened just enough to take the pad's base without the flat being visible from the side. In clear acrylic both joints are seen straight through, so each is machined and polished before bonding and neither can be filled. The pad's cover is cut so the pile runs one way over the whole top, since a seam or a reversed pile reads as two creams.
A round pad at 45cm makes this a stool to sit on rather than a surface, so it earns its place at a dressing table, in a bedroom or beside a bath. The clear elements below take their appearance from the floor, which means the stool reads as a cream pad floating over whatever it stands on - worth having over a boarded or a stone floor and lost over a pale carpet. The overhang keeps hands off the dome, which is the part that marks.
Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. Pad fabric and colour come from a range, and a leather or a velvet is available in place of the woven cover. Pad depth can be increased for a softer seat. The dome and cone are offered tinted, together or separately, and a frosted finish is available where less transparency is wanted. Overall height is cut to order. The stool arrives assembled, since both curved joints are bonded and neither is site work, and it is a comfortable one-person lift. It travels crated with the pad bagged and the dome sleeved. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A cream pad over a clear dome and cone belongs with our acrylic sculptures; three solids balanced one on another lead to our art furniture, and a padded stool for a bedroom corner joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
