Colourless Twisted Stem Cast Resin Side Table - 65cm with a swirl-patterned round top and twisted stem on a lobed foot, shown against a plain white background.
Colourless Twisted Stem Cast Resin Side Table - 65cm $3,78000
Description

The top of this cast resin pedestal side table is a round dish, and worked into its face is a radial swirl that turns out from the centre like a slow whirlpool, deepest at the middle and fading before it reaches the rim. It is carried on a stem that twists as it rises, its surface running in diagonal ridges, and at the bottom that stem flares out into a low lobed foot that spreads across the floor. Top, stem and foot are one piece of colourless resin, and the swirl in the top is echoed by the twist in the stem.

A Twisted Stem Flaring at Both Ends

One motion, repeated at three scales. The swirl worked into the top turns out from the centre and fades before the rim. The stem twists as it rises, its surface running in diagonal ridges that carry the same rotation. At the bottom the stem flares into a low lobed foot whose lobes spread outward in the same direction again. Nothing between them is a joint: top, stem and foot are one piece. The stem is the narrowest section in the table and it carries the whole top, so it is worked fullest at the two points where it leaves the foot and meets the dish. All of it is colourless, which means the twist is read from highlights alone.

At 65cm it comes up past a side table but stays clear of dining height, so a hall, a window or a place beside a long sofa suits it. The lobed foot spreads wide at the floor and will not tuck under an overhang. The swirl in the top reads from above and the twist in the stem from the side, so a position people pass and look down on gets both. Two people. Inside only.

The Stem, the Swirl, and the Lead Time

As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. Most of it is the twisted stem. Three points are open. The resin is offered tinted, the swirl in the top can be run deeper or left off entirely, and the foot can be spread wider. The overall height is quoted to your figure. Top diameter and overall height are both quoted on request. Two of these will match on the twist the stem takes if they are ordered at the same time. The packing protects the narrow waist of the stem; moving it wants two people. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

One twisting motion from swirled top to lobed foot makes a pedestal table for our art furniture; the turning form suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and a window or hall among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
