This cast resin round coffee table is a drum. Its top is round and level, rippled across the face, and the whole of its side is worked into vertical folds that run from the rim to the floor, swelling and pinching as they go. Between several of them the material lifts clear of the ground into open arches, so the drum stands on a handful of separate feet rather than a solid ring. Everything is one piece of colourless resin, polished to a high shine, and light entering the top comes out again low down through the folds.
A drum is the hardest shape to work this way, because a fold has to run the full height of the side and still arrive somewhere sensible at the floor. Here they swell and pinch as they descend and then, between several of them, the material lifts clear of the ground into open arches, so what looks like a solid ring turns out to stand on a handful of feet. The top is round and level and rippled across the face, which stops the piece reading as a plain cylinder. Everything is one piece, polished to a high shine, and the base of the drum reads brighter than its middle. Nothing on it is opaque and nothing is applied.
It is a round table for the middle of a ring of chairs and sofas, and being round it has no bad side. The arches at the floor mean it should stand on a hard surface rather than sinking into a rug, which would hide them entirely. A ceiling fitting suits this piece well, since the folds are brightest when the light comes from over it. It is very heavy. For indoor use.
Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. The drum of folds is the slow part. There are three decisions. The diameter is open, the piece is offered tinted, and the number of arches at the floor can be changed. The ripple in the top is different on every one. The top diameter and the overall height are whatever you specify. Where two or more are wanted, where the arches fall around the drum is held the same across the group. The arches round the foot of the drum are braced inside the crate, and four people carry it in. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A drum of clear resin folded from rim to floor is a coffee table in the spirit of our art furniture; its handling suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and a seating group in one of our indoor sculptures settings.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
