Colourless Dished Top Cone Base Resin Side Table - 80cm
Colourless Dished Top Cone Base Resin Side Table - 80cm $4,58900
Description

A dished top resting on a cone, this side table is cast entirely in resin. The top is a wide shallow dish, almost flat across the middle with a low turned wall and a set of fine concentric rings pressed into the centre. It rests on a solid cone that stands point upward, its wide face on the floor. Both parts are cast in colourless resin, and through the mass of the cone a soft grey drift shows where the material is thickest, so the base carries a shadow the top does not. Nothing is polished to a mirror; the surfaces are clear but soft.

A Shallow Dish on a Solid Cone

The two halves of this piece do opposite things with the same material. The cone is a solid mass and at that volume the resin is no longer truly colourless: a soft grey drift sits through the middle of it, densest along the longest sightlines and clearing towards the outer faces, so the base carries a weight the eye can see. The top does the reverse. It is thin, even, and clear right across, with a low turned wall and a set of fine concentric rings in the centre that read as texture rather than as reflection. Neither part is taken to a mirror finish; both are clear but soft, which is why the rings stay legible and why the cone reads as mass rather than as glass.

Standing at the height of a small dining or occasional table rather than a low side table, it works beside the last seat of a sofa run, in a window, or against a wall in a hall where something is set down and picked up again. The dished top holds what is put on it, which suits a hall better than a flat top would. The cone needs floor: it is widest at the ground, so it will not tuck into a corner. Light from the side shows the grey drift best. Indoors only.

Sold Singly, and What You Can Specify

Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. The dished top sets the pace here. Three things are settled at order. It is priced and supplied as one table. Two standing together means ordering two. The resin can be tinted, and the concentric rings in the top can be left out. Top diameter and overall height are each specified. The grey drift in the cone is matched only when the pieces are made as one order. In transit the wide dished rim is boxed away from the sides; four people to set it down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A shallow dish on a solid cone belongs with our art furniture; its quiet modern form joins our contemporary and modern sculptures, and its place in a room our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
