Colourless Crumpled Ice Form Resin Table - 118cm
Colourless Crumpled Ice Form Resin Table - 118cm $16,13200
Description

This cast resin sculpted table is one form. From a flat top the body drops away into deep irregular folds and creases that run right round it, so the sides read as a block of ice that has been crushed and then sliced level. It stands on the folds themselves rather than on legs, and the outline where it meets the floor is as irregular as the top is straight. The resin is colourless and highly polished. Every fold is seen twice, once on the outer face and once through the mass, and the two views sit out of register.

One Crumpled Form, Cut Flat

Everything about this form is one piece. There is no base, no leg and no join: the folds that make the sides are also what the table stands on, so the outline at the floor is as irregular as the top is level. The top is cut dead flat across all of it, which is what makes the rest read as ice rather than as abstraction, and the contrast between that single straight plane and the chaos beneath is the whole effect. Each fold appears twice, once on the near face and once through the body, and the two views never quite line up. Polishing every one of those concavities is slow work and it is why the piece takes as long as it does.

It stands at standing height rather than dining height, which makes it a console, a serving table or a hall piece. It needs to be seen from more than one side, because the folds change completely as you move round it, so an island position earns more than a wall. A plain floor is essential: anything patterned reads straight through the body and the folds stop separating. It is very heavy and takes four people. Indoors.

The Wall, the Form, and Delivery

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. Three aspects can be specified. The length is quoted to your figure, the resin is offered tinted as well as clear, and the wall thickness can be increased if a heavier piece is wanted. Where the folds fall is different on every one and cannot be specified. You name the overall length and the top thickness. Order more than one together and the run of the crumpled folds is matched across them. Crated with the thin upper rim of the body protected, it is a four-person lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A block of crumpled ice sliced level gives our art furniture a serving table; its chaos of folds belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures, and a hall or dining room is where our indoor sculptures place it.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
