Cobalt Frosted Crossed Loop Resin Sculpture, 56cm, a self-crossing band with cobalt outer face and pale blue inner curve, shown on a plain white background.
Cobalt Frosted Crossed Loop Resin Sculpture - 56cm $2,42800
Description

A crossed loop of frosted cobalt resin. The band crosses itself once and closes, leaving one broad aperture through the middle of the piece. Its outer face is cobalt and its inner face a pale, almost white blue, the two meeting along crisp rims, and the inner face sweeps round into the opening in one smooth curve. Cobalt is densest across the outside, and the frost is even over the whole form. It arrives as the loop alone, meeting the surface on the one foot it turns down to.

A Pale Inner Face Round a Single Opening

A loop that crosses itself has one opening, and the whole piece depends on how the wall turns into it. Here the pale inner face sweeps round into the aperture without a break, while crisp rims mark where it meets the cobalt outside, so the band reads as one strip turning about a single opening. Frosting the surface makes that legible: a polished version would show the far wall through the near one and the single opening would look like two. The cobalt is densest across the outer face and gives out where the surface turns in, so the aperture is the lightest thing in the piece.

The opening frames whatever stands beyond it, so what is behind decides the position more than the surface does. A window beyond it does more than any lamp. Frosted work takes light from any direction, so the only real constraint is what is seen through the hole. A console or a sideboard suits it, set square to the room with open space behind, so the view through the aperture becomes part of the piece.

The Aperture, the Cobalt and Delivery

Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. The aperture is drawn rounder, the cobalt is graded from the opening outward, and one face is brought to a polish. Span is open here, and the aperture keeps the same share of the wall across the range. How much wall is left round the opening decides whether this is a pierced solid or a band, and it is worth choosing before the work starts. Packing goes round the outer wall and nowhere near the aperture, and two people are needed to lift it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A frosted cobalt loop crossing itself at its one foot joins our indoor sculptures, our contemporary and modern sculptures and our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
