Clear Walking Stag on a Black Base - 150cm, a clear polished resin sculpture mid-stride with antlers raised, set on a black rectangular base against a plain white background.
Clear Walking Stag on a Black Base - 150cm $8,64000
Description

The stag in this resin sculpture is caught mid-stride: its hind legs are spread wide, one reaching forward under the body and the other stretched back, while the forelegs stand close together. Its head is up and turned slightly towards the viewer under a wide rack of antlers. Everything is clear polished resin, and the whole thing stands on a thin rectangular base in black that runs most of the animal's own length.

A Stride Held on a Long Black Base

A stride puts the four hooves far apart: the hind legs splay wide while the forelegs stand together at the front, so the animal's weight is spread along a long, narrow footprint, and one hoof standing fractionally proud would leave the whole stag rocking. All four soles are therefore ground against the finished base rather than a bench, first in pairs and then together. The base is why it works at all: it is long rather than wide, running from the trailing hind hoof to the forelegs, so the animal is carried on a footprint the eye reads as generous without the slab looking heavy.

A walking animal has a direction and it should walk into the room, not along a wall. That makes an open floor, the middle of a hall or the far end of a large space the right positions and a corner the wrong one. Leave room in front for the stride to carry on into. At 150cm it is met at head height. Against planting or a window the stag carries whatever is behind it straight through its body; against a pale wall the black base is what anchors the animal.

The Base, the Rack and Getting It Upright

Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. Rack width is settled at order, and the body can be cast as a hind. The base comes in this black, a white marble, a grey stone or a dark timber, and its length and thickness are both open. Colour can be carried through the material as an amber, a smoke or a soft green, and a frosted animal is offered. Grazing and lying stags in matching resin can be cast to accompany it. Any size is cut to order. Animal, rack and base travel in one crate packed apart and go together without tools; three people are wanted to stand it up. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A stag caught mid-stride on a black slab belongs with our deer statues; a tall rack of many tines leads to our animal sculptures, and clear resin standing on black joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
