Clear Turned Leg Acrylic Armchair with Blue Buttoned Seat - 102cm
Clear Turned Leg Acrylic Armchair with Blue Buttoned Seat - 102cm $2,69700
Description

An armchair in clear acrylic on a classical frame, its seat a deep blue cushion pulled down with buttons. The back is a tall panel with a fine line cut in from its edges, framing a second panel inside the first, and the arms sweep out from it and down onto turned supports. All four legs are turned, collared and tapered to a narrow foot.

A Framed Back Panel Over Turned Legs

The line cut into the back is what sets this chair apart. It is routed a little in from every edge of the panel and polished, so the back reads as a frame with a second clear panel held inside it, and the eye picks it out against whatever wall stands behind. The turned members are taken in fine passes and polished after turning, so they stay as clear as the flat parts. The blue of the cushion is the only colour on the chair, and at a distance the whole chair turns into a block of colour held in a clear outline.

At 102cm the back rises well clear of a dining table, so a pair at its ends gives the table a frame, and a single chair makes a striking occasional seat in a guest bedroom. The blue suits white or grey walls, and the clear frame keeps the chair from adding visual weight to a busy space.

Cushion Colour, the Framed Back and a Set

Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. Another colour or fabric can be used for the cushion, or it can be left plain without its buttons, and the line on the back can be cut deeper or left off for a plain panel. Each chair is priced on its own, so a matched set is simply several on one order. It is delivered assembled in a shaped carton, the cushion wrapped on its own, and a single person can bring it in. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A framed back over turned legs belongs with our indoor sculptures; a blue buttoned seat in a clear outline leads to our art furniture, and a classical chair cut from acrylic sits with our acrylic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
