Clear Tube Hoop Acrylic Chair with Cream Pad - 82cm
Clear Tube Hoop Acrylic Chair with Cream Pad - 82cm $2,02300
Description

The frame of this acrylic chair is round tube, bent into a single tall hoop that rises as the back and comes down as the two rear legs without a break. A second bent tube makes the front legs and the front rail, and between the two sits a round pad in cream boucle. It stands at dining height with an unusually open frame beneath it.

A Hoop That Is Back and Rear Legs at Once

Bending round tube and keeping the section round is the whole problem. A tube pulled through a bend flattens on the outside of the curve and wrinkles on the inside unless it is supported through the whole operation, and in a colourless material both faults are obvious from across a room: a flat spot reads as a bright line that follows you round it. The hoop here holds an even section through a return of nearly 180 degrees at the top. The junctions where the two frames cross are collared rather than butted, so the load is taken across a length of tube instead of at a point, and the collars are polished to the clarity of the tube so they read as part of it. Every hoop closes at a slightly different rate.

An open tube frame barely occupies the space it stands in, which makes this useful where a solid chair would crowd: a small dining table, a dressing table, a bedroom corner. A plain floor serves it best, since the frame is read through and a patterned floor arrives inside the tube. The boucle pad is the only opaque element and is what stops the chair disappearing altogether, so choose it with the wall in mind rather than the floor. Four of these round a table read as a set of outlines.

Pad Fabric, Tube Gauge and Ordering More Than One

Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. Pad fabric is chosen from a range, and a leather pad is available where boucle is too soft a note. The tube gauge can be increased for a heavier read, and a tint can be introduced. Seat height is adjustable within the frame, which matters if the chair is going to a table above standard height. Each chair arrives assembled with the pad fitted, and it is a one-person lift at this weight. Where several are ordered they travel in a single crate, sleeved individually, because a colourless tube shows a scuff from any angle and stacked chairs mark one another. The pad is bagged separately and fitted on arrival. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A hoop that is back and rear legs at once belongs with our acrylic sculptures; a cream boucle pad slung between rails leads to our art furniture, and a seat at a dressing table joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
