Clear Tree Ring Resin Coffee Table on Gold Legs, 140cm, showing a lobed clear resin top with carved growth rings on slender gold metal legs, plain white background.
Clear Tree Ring Resin Coffee Table on Gold Legs - 140cm $7,96500
Description

This coffee table stands on gold-toned metal legs. The top is a clear resin slab taken from a trunk section: growth rings run right across it, radial rays cut through them, and the perimeter is left as a rough lobed band in place of a cut edge. One wedge of the section sits a step down from the rest along the line of a radial split, and small gold-coloured slivers are set into the face at intervals.

A Trunk Section Read Through Clear Material

The ring pattern is the reason to have it. The rings are close and even for most of the radius, then open out in two broad passages where the growth was faster, and the radial rays cross them at irregular intervals so the surface never settles into a repeat. Because the material is colourless, the rings do not read as brown lines on a pale ground: they read as texture, catching the light along their length and going dark in between. The stepped wedge is the boldest thing on the top. It follows a radial split from the centre out to the rim, and the drop is enough to see and to feel without breaking the plane into two tables. The gold slivers are placed a hand's width apart across the middle third and are the only colour in the piece. The lobed rim carries the ring ends, so the edge is rough where the face is smooth.

This is a big round low table at proper coffee height for the front of a sofa. It needs to be circled, so give it generous space on at least three sides; pushed against a wall, the rim and the stepped wedge stop reading. Being colourless it takes almost no visual space, which is why it suits a room that is already busy, and it sits happily on a patterned rug because the pattern shows through it. Keep a lamp off to one side rather than directly above. Indoor use only.

Leg Finish, Diameter and the Stepped Wedge

Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. Three decisions. The legs come in this gold tone, in a black with gold ferrules, or in a plain satin metal, and they can be made longer to raise the table. Any diameter can be ordered, with the ring pattern redrawn for each so that no size is a scaled copy. And the stepped wedge can be left out for a level top, or set deeper, or run from a different point on the rim. The gold slivers are optional and can be supplied in a silver tone instead, or omitted altogether for a top with no colour in it at all. The top and the legs travel apart, the legs boxed and the top crated face up on a purpose-built pallet, and the legs bolt into threaded sockets already set in the underside, which is a two-person job of about twenty minutes. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A coffee table cut like a trunk section belongs to our art furniture; it is shown too among our indoor sculptures, and its gold-toned legs connect it with our metal sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
