Clear Textured Panel Acrylic Bench on Three Blades - 340cm
Clear Textured Panel Acrylic Bench on Three Blades - 340cm $22,14200
Description

This bench is one long, thick clear panel, its whole top face worked into a fine even texture that runs unbroken from one end to the other. It is carried on three polished stainless blades rather than two, the third set at the middle of the span, because at this length two would leave the panel to sag between them.

Three Blades Because Two Will Not Hold It

A third blade is not decoration, and where it goes is the whole engineering decision on a bench this long: too near the middle and the two end spans droop, too far out and the middle does. It is set so all three spans read level to the eye, which is less than arithmetic alone would give, because a clear panel shows a deflection the moment it starts. The texture is then worked along the full length on every pass rather than in sections, since a panel finished a stretch at a time shows each join as a change of rhythm.

A bench this long is a piece of architecture as much as a seat, so it wants a wall of its own: a lobby, a long gallery, the side of a hall. Nothing about it works pushed into a corner. The three blades read as a rhythm along the floor and they want a plain hard surface to reflect rather than a rug. Overhead light along the length animates the texture, where a single fitting picks out one patch and leaves the rest flat.

Blade Spacing, Panel Depth and Access at Length

Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. Blade count follows the length: two serve a modest run, and a much longer one needs four. A heavier or a lighter panel changes the deflection and therefore the blade spacing. Length is cut to order. The texture can be coarsened, confined to the long faces or left off. A tint can be introduced and the blades are available brushed or coated. Access is the real question at this length: the panel cannot be divided, so every turn on the route in has to be checked first. Four people are wanted for it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Three blades spaced so every span reads level belong with our stainless steel sculptures; a fine texture run unbroken over the whole top leads to our acrylic sculptures, and three-bladed seating for a long gallery joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
