This bench is a single deep slab of clear cast resin, and that depth is the point of it: seen from the end the whole depth of the material is on show, and running through it are dense vertical striations with amber and orange streaks caught among them. Two flat plate legs in brushed stainless steel stand well in from the ends, so the slab reads as though it is floating between them.
That much clear material is a great deal to look into, and the end of the slab is where this piece is read. The striations run vertically through the full depth, close together and irregular, and the amber and orange streaks sit at different depths among them so they do not line up on one plane. Look at the top face and the streaks are muted under the surface; look at the end and they stack into a band. The brushed steel plates are the only matte surfaces on the object and they are set in from the ends, which leaves a clear overhang at each side and makes a heavy slab read as lighter than it is. No two slabs carry the same streak pattern.
The bench seats two at a push, or serves as a coffee table or a piece for the foot of a bed. It wants to be seen from the end as well as the side, so a position where you walk past it rather than straight at it shows it best. The steel plates are set in from the ends, so it can sit on a rug without the corners sinking. Light from behind is what brings the streaks up out of the slab. It is heavy, and it should be placed once. Indoors only.
Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. The slab is the slow part. Three things are open. The length, which can be extended, though beyond a certain point the slab is cast in parts and the seam shows. The streaking, from this dense amber run to a clear slab with no inclusion at all. And the legs, which can be these flat stainless plates, a pair of clear resin blocks that make the whole bench read as one material, or a single central plinth. Slab thickness can also be quoted otherwise. It ships in two crates, slab and legs apart, and four people are wanted for the slab. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
This slab bench takes its seat in our art furniture; its plate legs bring it into our metal sculptures, and their brushed finish into our stainless steel sculptures.

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
