Clear Stag with Set Branches Resin Sculpture - 193cm $32,74100
Description

This stag in high-clarity resin carries its antlers above the heads of the people looking at it. What sets it apart is inside it: real branches, twigs and dried leaves are held within the casting, so the clear body of the deer contains a thicket rather than being empty. They gather through the legs and the chest and thin toward the head, and the brown of the wood is the only colour in the piece.

Real Branches Standing Inside the Animal

Setting real wood inside clear resin is a race against two things at once. Wood carries moisture and moisture makes bubbles, so every branch is dried right through before it goes anywhere near a mould, and a branch that looks dry and is not shows up as a line of silver beads along its own length. Wood also floats. Left loose it rises to the top of the casting and gathers under the spine, so each piece is positioned and held against the mould wall before any resin is introduced, and the arrangement is decided as a composition rather than left to chance. At this height the pour is broken into more than one operation, which is what keeps the heat of it under control.

At 193cm it is an architectural object rather than a room ornament: an entrance hall, a stairwell, a gallery, a double-height space where it can be seen from two levels. The branches inside it want light before they show at all, so daylight behind or beside the animal does far more than a downlight overhead. Stand it clear of walls on at least two sides. It is heavy, and the floor under it should be solid rather than sprung.

Branch Density, Scale and What a Tall Delivery Needs

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. Branch density is set at order, from this full thicket to a few isolated twigs, and the species can be chosen where you have one in mind - the wood is what gives the piece its colour, so it is worth deciding. Scale is cut to order. A tint through the resin is available but tends to fight the wood. It travels in a purpose-built crate, upright, with the antlers cased separately, and it is a four-person lift with a route that has to be checked first. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A stag holding real branches within its body belongs with our deer statues; twigs and dried leaves held in a clear body lead to our figurative sculptures, and wood suspended in resin joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
