Clear Stag with Black Antlers Cast Resin Sculpture - 66cm $2,15900
Description

This cast resin sculpture is a stag in optically clear resin, its long neck raised almost upright and its head held forward, the antlers sweeping back behind it. Two things are black and everything else is colourless: the antlers, and the legs, which run from clear at the body down to black at the hooves. A block of black marble carries it. The clear body takes almost no light of its own, so the two black passages are what the eye reads first and what fixes the pose.

Two Black Elements Against a Colourless Animal

Casting an animal clear is harder than casting it opaque, because clear resin hides nothing: a void that would never show under paint reads as a grey cloud in the flank, and the mould has to be filled from the lowest point so air is pushed ahead of the resin rather than trapped behind it. The antlers are the other difficulty. They branch, they are thin, and they carry no load, which means they cool faster than the body and want to pull away from it; they are therefore made separately and set into the skull, which is also why they can be a different colour at all. The legs pass from clear at the body to black at the hooves in one gradual shift, with no line where one colour stops and the next begins.

A stag at this height belongs on a table or a console instead of the floor, and it asks to be seen from the flank, where the raised neck and the backward sweep of the antlers read as one line. Put it where something dark sits behind it and the clear body appears as an outline; against a pale wall the antlers do the work on their own. The marble block gives it enough weight to stand on a polished surface without sliding. Leave room behind the head for the antlers to reach into.

Antler Colour, Block Choice and How It Arrives

Give it 3–4 weeks as a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks as a bespoke commission. The antlers are offered in this black, a bronze, a silver or clear to match the body, and the legs can be left clear to the hooves so the animal reads as one material throughout. Tint through the body is available in a smoke, an amber or a soft blue. The block comes in this black marble, a white marble or a dark timber, and its depth is set at order. Size is cut to order. Animal and block travel separately in one crate, the antlers cased in their own tray, and the three go together on site with no tools. One person can carry each part. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A stag with black antlers swept over its back belongs with our deer statues; its upright, watchful pose leads to our figurative sculptures, and clear resin darkening to black hooves joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
