This side table's clear top, chamfered at its rim, sits on a stem of three solid clear spheres stacked one above another, the smallest just under the disc and the fullest at the foot, with a stack of collars between each. The whole stem stands on a polished stainless steel disc, the only part that is not clear, and a faint green shows at the edges of the top and the collars where the material is seen through its depth.
A solid sphere is a demanding shape to make clear. It is thickest at its middle, so any haze in the material gathers there and shows as a cloud, and the polish has to run unbroken over a surface with no flat on it anywhere. Each sphere is turned and polished until no haze is left in it, and the three are graded from the small one under the disc to the full one at the foot, so the stem swells as it comes down. The collars between them are stacked from flat discs, each polished at its edge so it shows as a fine bright line.
Give a stacked stem room to be seen sideways rather than pressing it up against an arm: alongside a chair, out in a bay, or where a run of seating finishes. At 70cm the disc is above the arm of most seats and suits a lamp as well as a glass. Each solid sphere holds a small upturned picture of the room around it, so a window or a lamp nearby gives the stem something bright to gather. The steel foot is the visual anchor and reflects the floor, so a plain floor helps.
Bespoke commissions take 5–6 weeks; standard pieces take 3–4. Sphere count can be taken to two to bring the disc down or to four to raise it, and the disc is cut to the size wanted. A tint can be put through the spheres alone or through the whole piece, and the foot is offered brushed or in a darker metal. Disc, stem and foot travel as three items and assemble on arrival, which keeps the spheres out of a stairwell as one column. One person can manage the stem. The disc wants two people, taken at opposite edges, since a chamfered rim is easy to chip. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Three solid spheres that swell toward the foot belong with our acrylic sculptures; a polished steel disc under a clear stem leads to our stainless steel sculptures, and a lamp table alongside an armchair joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
