Clear Stacked Bulb Column on Gold Foot Resin Sculpture, 155cm, with resin bulbs atop a brushed gold blade-shaped foot on a white marble base, set against a plain light grey background.
Clear Stacked Bulb Column on Gold Foot Resin Sculpture - 155cm $3,37500
Description

Four clear bulbs of resin stacked one on another up a narrow column, each swelling and pinching in to the next, rising out of a tapering metal foot shaped like a blade and finished in brushed gold. The two meet at a hard line about a third of the way up, so the piece is two materials and two surfaces stacked. A marble block is supplied. The gold foot above it is not a support but the bottom of the sculpture.

Two Surfaces Doing Opposite Things

Two finishes on one object, made to disagree, are what this piece is built on. The clear bulbs are polished until they hold sharp highlights and show the room through them, while the brushed gold foot below softens every reflection into a warm sheen, so the eye reads glass above and metal below. The join is deliberately not disguised: a soft transition would make the foot look like a base, and the point of it is that it is the bottom of the sculpture. Each bulb is drawn to a different swell, so the column steps up irregularly rather than repeating one shape.

A hall, a landing or a formal entrance, standing on the floor. Something dark behind it lifts the clear bulbs; on a pale wall only the gold foot reads. Light from the side climbs the column a bulb at a time, while the brushed foot holds a soft glow whatever the light does. The bright column carries and the gold foot anchors it, which is why the piece reads as more height than it has.

A Frosted Finish, and Delivery

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The bulbs can be frosted or tinted, the foot finished in another metal, and a deeper block cut. Tint the bulbs and the gold foot reads less sharply against them, because a clear body over gold takes some of its colour from the foot. Two parts, one crate: the block is placed and the piece set down into position afterwards. One person can move it, taken by the metal foot rather than the bulbs. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A brushed gold foot rising into resin belongs with our metal sculptures; the casting it carries sits within our resin sculptures, and more for a formal entrance is in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
