Four clear acrylic legs splay outward as they descend, so the stool stands on a footprint wider than its seat. Above the seat a shallow curved panel rises as a back, no higher than the small of the back, and a slim copper-toned stretcher runs between the front legs. It stands at counter and bar height, with a back to lean on.
Splayed legs in a colourless material have to agree with one another to a degree that a painted frame never would. Each leg leaves the seat at the same angle in two planes at once, and any leg out by a degree shows as a visible disagreement in the reflections running down the four members, long before it shows as a wobble. The legs are therefore cut and set from a single template and their feet trimmed together rather than one at a time. The back panel is a shallow curve on plan as well as in section, which is what lets a low back still catch the spine, and its ends are polished round so nothing presents an arris at that height. The stretchers are let into the legs rather than lapped across them.
A stool with a back is worth having wherever people sit for longer than a drink, so this suits a kitchen island, a bar where meals happen, or a high work surface. Set them at least a hand's width apart, because the splayed feet reach beyond the seat and two stools placed on seat spacing will foul at the floor. A clear stool almost disappears under a counter, which is its advantage in a small kitchen and its disadvantage in a dark room, where the outline is easy to walk into.
Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. Overall height is set to your counter, which is the measurement to confirm before anything is cut. The back can be taken deeper for more support, or omitted for a plain perch. A tint is available, and the seat can be supplied with an upholstered pad if the bare acrylic is too cool. The stretchers can be left out where a cleaner front is wanted. Each stool arrives assembled and is a one-person lift. Where a run is ordered they ship in one crate, sleeved individually, since colourless legs mark one another in transit, and they are numbered so a matched set stays together on site. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Four legs splayed from a narrow seat belong with our acrylic sculptures; a low curved back for longer sitting leads to our art furniture, and counter seating where meals happen joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
